Chery's new hybrids can travel over 2,300 kilometers without refueling

Chery presented its new C-DM 5.0 hybrid platform at a special conference in China. The Chery Fengyun A8L sedan built on its basis set a record among Chinese cars in terms of range.

The main platform of Chery C-DM 5.0 is a 1.5-liter engine of the fifth generation (thermal efficiency is 44.5%, maximum power - 115 kW, torque - 220 Nm) and an electric motor (power - 150 kW, torque - up to 310 Nm, efficiency - up to 98.5% when driving in all-electric mode). Also included in the platform is a continuously variable hybrid transmission DHT.

The Chery Fengyun A8L sedan based on the new platform is equipped with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a capacity of 18.67 kWh. The car is capable of driving 145 kilometers on electric power alone. But in hybrid mode without charging and refueling it was enough for a record 2369.915 kilometers, with an average fuel consumption of 2.66 liters per 100 kilometers.
