Yangwang U9 electric hypercar can jump over obstacles

BYD has released a new video of the Yangwang U9 electric hypercar. The car literally jumps over road spikes and other obstacles on its way, showing a high level of control and maneuverability thanks to the autonomous control system.

The Yangwang U9 is an all-electric supercar built on BYD's e4 platform and equipped with the innovative Disus X suspension system. This technology allows the car to move on three wheels, perform dance moves and even jump, as demonstrated in the latest video.

The model is equipped with four electric motors with a total output of 960 kW (1,287 hp) and a maximum torque of 1,680 Nm. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes only 2.36 seconds, and the car covers a distance of 400 meters in 9.78 seconds. In November 2024, the Yangwang U9 completed a lap at the N�rburgring in 7 minutes and 17.9 seconds.

Yangwang U9 is equipped with an 800-volt platform, which can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in just 10 minutes. The supercar supports a dual charging function. Such technology was previously used in BYD's Denza D9 and N7 models.

The Yangwang U9 was introduced in February 2024 at a price of 1.68 million yuan (about $230,000) in the Chinese market. Six months later, in August, mass production and deliveries of the car began.
