Xiaomi cars are known in many countries, but they are only officially sold in China. However, the company's president has now spoken about plans to start selling electric cars outside the domestic market. Data on their success in their home country has also been released.

Xiaomi President William Lu said during a recent financial report that plans to start selling the company's electric vehicles in Europe are in the “research and preparation” stage. The estimated time of entry into this market is 2027 (no earlier than a year and a half from now).

Xiaomi cars are very popular in their home market: in the second quarter of 2025, the company sold a record 81,302 cars, which is 197.73% more than in 2024. This figure is also 7.16% higher than in the first quarter.

Despite its popularity, buying a Xiaomi car is not so easy: the waiting period for delivery of the SU7 sedan is 41 weeks, and for the YU7 crossover, 58 weeks. At the same time, the company's revenue reached $2.87 billion, and its gross profit was 26.4%.
