Xiaomi has started testing the YU9 large SUV

The Xiaomi YU7 only recently went on sale, and now rumors have surfaced online about the company's next car - a large family SUV that has already been photographed on a car carrier somewhere in China.

The new photo supposedly shows the Xiaomi YU9 placed on the top tier of a car carrier. Judging by the silhouette, the family SUV will get a large body and a sequential hybrid, because a battery pack would be too big and expensive for this type of car. Other automakers in China have similar hybrids, and Xiaomi probably wants to enter this segment.

A typical representative of this type in the Middle Kingdom is equipped with a 1.5- or 2-liter gasoline engine only to recharge the electric motor, and the acceleration time to 100 km/h is about five seconds. Also common is an 800-volt architecture, an electric-only range of 200 kilometers and a total autonomy of 1,500 kilometers at a price of 50-70 thousand dollars.

The estimated release date is not earlier than next year.
