XPeng X-Van minibus with integrated eVTOL announced at CES 2025
Chinese aerospace company Xpeng Aero HT, owned by carmaker Xpeng, showed off an Aero HT hybrid vehicle at CES 2025 that combines the functions of a family minivan and an eVTOL electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle.
The innovative vehicle can carry four passengers, offering comfort and safety both on the ground and in the air. The trunk of the vehicle hides a flying vehicle with a sliding wing system and an electric propulsion system.
On the ground, the Aero HT functions as a standard minivan, and when needed, the flying vehicle is pulled out of the trunk. This solution is designed for use in both high-traffic cities and for intercity travel.
The company reports three thousand pre-orders. It is planned that serial production will begin this year, and delivery of the first copies to customers is expected in 2026. Also in Guangzhou, the construction of the Aero HT plant is already underway, which is scheduled to be launched by the end of the year.
According to the company's representative, after reaching full production capacity, the company will be able to produce up to 10,000 cars per year.
