Volkswagen unveiled the ID.Era 5S hybrid sedan with a 2,000 km range

The SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture has unveiled the ID. Era 5S hybrid sedan in China. Along with the launch of pre-sales, the company revealed trim levels and pricing for the new model.

The sedan's dimensions are 4836 x 1880 x 1505 mm with a wheelbase of 2766 mm. The car features a full-width light strip at the front, recessed door handles, and a rear monolight. Wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches are available.

The interior features an 8.8-inch instrument cluster display and a 15.6-inch multimedia system screen with an AI-based voice assistant.

Options include a panoramic roof, ventilated and massage front seats, heated seats, a 360-degree camera system, and autonomous driving systems. Highway and city autopilot systems are also available, but the car lacks lidar.

The powertrain includes a 109 hp engine and a 177 hp electric motor. A 19.1 kWh LFP battery provides up to 160 km of electric range, and a total driving range of up to 2,000 km.

Weighing 1,655 kg, the sedan has a top speed of 165 km/h. Pre-order prices range from $17,700 to $22,000.
