Toyota's New Electric Vehicle Has Proven Incredibly Popular
Toyota has unveiled its new flagship electric vehicle, the bZ7, in the Chinese market, where the model immediately generated significant interest. The new model is positioned as the company's most technologically advanced electric car, and within an hour of sales opening, more than 3,100 orders were placed for the sedan.
With a starting price of around $22,000, the car offers a high level of luxury and technology previously unseen in the brand’s global lineup. With a length of 5,130 mm, a width of 1,965 mm, and a height of 1,500 mm, along with a wheelbase of 3,020 mm, the car is comparable in size to the Tesla Model S or the BYD Han L.
The cabin features massage seats, a refrigerator, a massive 15.6-inch multimedia screen, and a 27-inch HUD display. The interior is so futuristic that it’s hard to recognize the Japanese brand’s familiar conservative style.
Buyers can choose between versions with 71 kWh and 88 kWh batteries, providing a range of up to 700 km on the CLTC cycle. Special attention has been paid to charging speed: 300 km of range can be obtained in 10 minutes. At the same time, Toyota is so confident in the reliability of the batteries used that it promises to replace them free of charge if they degrade by more than 10% in the first two years.
The bZ7 model was developed in close collaboration with Chinese companies. For example, the vehicle uses the HUAWEI HarmonyOS intelligent driving system.
