Toyota's most affordable electric SUV to be released in 2026
Toyota is preparing to release its most affordable electric vehicle. The new C-HR is set to occupy the niche of a mass-market everyday electric crossover and compete on price with other budget models.
The 2026 Toyota C-HR electric vehicle is equipped with a 74.7 kWh battery, designed for a range of up to 465 km. It supports fast charging at up to 150 kW and is equipped with a built-in NACS port, making it compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network.
The car comes with standard all-wheel drive and two electric motors with a combined output of 338 horsepower. It accelerates to 100 km/h in about 5 seconds. Its dimensions are similar to those of the Kia Niro EV and Volvo EX30, and it is slightly shorter than the Toyota bZ.
The interior features a 14-inch multimedia screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Two versions are expected — SE and XSE. The price has not yet been announced, but preliminary estimates suggest that the retail price could be around $30,000. Sales will begin in early 2026.
