Tesla has released a “long-range” version of its Model Y electric car
Tesla has introduced a new version of its Model Y car to the Chinese market. The main difference between the new model and the base model is its increased range.
According to the specifications, the Tesla Model Y+ can travel up to 821 km (measured using the CLTC method) on a single charge. This figure was achieved with the help of new LG batteries with a total capacity of 78.4 kWh. The price of the updated version is $40,500.
The release of the car coincided with the brand's loss of part of the local market: October saw the lowest monthly sales volume since autumn 2022. At the same time, the total sales volume of electric cars in China, on the contrary, increased.
According to Chinese media reports, Tesla's new model has already attracted the attention of consumers. This is indirectly confirmed by the increase in delivery times for the electric car from 2-4 to 4-6 weeks.
