Tesla launches Model YL and Model 3 Plus electric cars with extended range

Tesla has unveiled new versions of its best-selling electric cars. The Model 3 Plus sedan with an extended driving range and Model YL - an extended version of the electric SUV with three rows of seats - have been added to the American company's portfolio this time.

The Tesla Model YL is 17 centimeters longer and more than 2 centimeters taller than the base version. In addition to an increased wheelbase, the electric car has new wheels, a modified rear end and a new spoiler. The car is available in an all-wheel drive version with two motors: 142 kW on the front axle and 198 kW on the rear axle. Total maximum power reaches a figure of 340 kW (456 hp) and speeds up to 201 km/h.

The Tesla Model 3 Plus is equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle and an NMC battery manufactured by LG. Such a battery with a more expensive chemical composition was previously only available on the all-wheel drive Long Range or Performance versions. It is expected that the upgrade will allow the Model 3 Plus to significantly increase the range compared to other versions of the electric sedan, although the company has not yet disclosed the exact figures.

Prices of the new models in China will be announced at a later date.
