The long-suffering Tesla Roadster has a new release date
Elon Musk has set a new date for the presentation of the future Tesla Roadster flying supercar. It was first unveiled in 2017 and was supposed to be released in 2020, but the release has been postponed several times. Once again, it turns out that those who pre-ordered earlier will have to be patient again.
Elon Musk had previously announced a release date of late 2025, but now the presentation has been moved to April 1, 2026. In addition, the entrepreneur recently stated that the Roadster will feature more “insane” technology than all of James Bond's cars combined.
However, at the shareholders' meeting, where the new presentation date was announced, Musk called his words about technology a joke. Still, he promised the most exciting demonstration regardless of whether the car will work or not. Regarding the presentation date, Musk joked that it gives him an excuse to say, “It was a joke.” Musk also said that the car will be very different from what the company has shown before, and that everyone who has made a $250,000 prepayment for the future novelty is invited to the presentation.
it was also revealed that mass production would begin 12–18 months after the presentation, i.e., in April–October 2027. However, this is inaccurate, as the company recently posted a job opening for a Roadster concept development engineer. This is an early stage of work, and according to experts, the search for an engineer makes the forecast for completion in 2027 overly optimistic.
