Tesla announces updated Model Y with redesigned design and improved features

New to Tesla is the updated Model Y, aimed at the China and Asia-Pacific markets. The electric car is the first update since the original version was launched in 2020, receiving a number of important changes both technically and in terms of design.

The changes to the new Model Y, also known by the codename Juniper, are largely similar to what Tesla made to the brand's signature Model 3 sedan in 2023. The auto also borrowed some design elements from the company's other products.

In particular, the front of the body became less convex and received a thin light strip of headlights running along the entire contour of the bumper, as in the Cybertruck. LED fog lights are located in special niches under the main optics. The company has also abandoned the traditional taillights in favor of mono headlights.

The interior of the updated Model Y features the same backlight strip as the Model 3. It covers almost the entire interior and supports the ability to change colors. The rear seats have power seats and a new touchscreen display.
According to the company, the chassis of the electric car has been improved: the revised suspension now has a smoother ride and less noise. Also, the electric car became a little lighter than its predecessor and increased the range by several kilometers.

The updated Model Y is expected to go on sale in March 2025. There is no information about the release of the car on the markets of other countries.
