Skoda has redesigned its first motorcycle for the modern age
The Czech automaker has delighted fans of two-wheeled transportation by presenting the Slavia B electric motorcycle concept in the style of a cafe racer. The model is a modern interpretation of the company's first motorcycle - gasoline Slavia model of 1899.
The original model was equipped with a 240cc engine with 1.75 horsepower. The new concept reinterprets the classic design, but this time the company has emphasized environmental friendliness and modern technology.
Skoda designer Romain Bucay has retained the recognizable silhouette of the original: a low-slung frame and minimalist layout. Instead of a gasoline engine in the center of the frame is now an empty space and “floating” logo Laurin & Klement - it was also on the first motorcycle of the company.
Vintage elements such as leather grips, footrests and saddle, refer to the style of the late XIX century, and at the same time modern details like LED-headlights and Skoda grille add futurism. The company specifies that Slavia B is only a conceptual project, created to demonstrate the design potential of the brand.
