Renault sets electric vehicle efficiency record
Renault Group ended 2025 by demonstrating record electric vehicle efficiency. The experimental Filante Record 2025 concept proved that long-distance electric travel is possible without extreme conditions or special driving modes.
During the official run, the car covered 1,008 km in 9 hours and 52 minutes, traveling at an average speed of 102 km/h. The test ended with more than 11% of the charge remaining. The electric car used a standard 87 kWh battery from the Renault Scenic E-Tech, and energy consumption was 7.8 kWh per 100 km.
The tests were conducted on the 30-kilometer UTAC track in Oued Zem, Morocco. Despite the production battery, the car itself was made as light as possible and optimized for aerodynamics. Formula 1-level materials were used in the design, including carbon fiber and 3D-printed aluminum components.
According to Renault representatives, absolute efficiency was the key objective of the project. Renault engineers worked on the Filante Record 2025 in collaboration with Michelin and Ligier.
The tests also showed that the car remains controllable and stable on the road, confirming the potential of such technologies for future production electric vehicles.
