Polestar unveils electric sedan to compete with Porsche

Polestar has unveiled an electric model based on the 2020 Precept concept. The new model is called the Polestar 5 and, according to the company, will compete with Porsche and other premium brands.

Technically, the car is truly impressive. It is equipped with an 884 horsepower electric motor. It accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, and the range on a single charge can reach up to 670 km, depending on the version.

The model is built on the Polestar Performance Architecture platform with an 800-volt system that allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80% in just 22 minutes. The battery capacity is 112 kWh. The interior features a 14.5-inch vertical screen, a projection display, and a Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

The car is also equipped with 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and a driver assistance system from Mobileye.

The Polestar 5 is scheduled to hit the market in the first half of 2026. The price for the top version may exceed $100,000.
