Kia unveils multifunctional PV5 electric van
Kia has unveiled a new version of its PV5 Chassis Cab electric van. At the SOLUTRANS 2025 exhibition in Lyon, the company showed how this platform can be converted into a mobile café, camper van, or commercial truck.
The Kia PV5 Chassis Cab is built on the E-GMP.S platform and can carry up to 1,005 kg of cargo, providing up to eight cubic meters of volume in the High Box version. The model will be available with 51.5 kWh or 71.2 kWh batteries. The L2H1 Cargo version can travel up to 297 km with a standard battery and up to 416 km with an extended battery. Fast charging from 10 to 80% in 30 minutes is supported.
The Dropside version is suitable for farm work, the Tipper for waste collection, and the Box Vans for delivery (there is a version with a refrigerator). Kia even built a food truck based on the van to demonstrate its practical application.
The cabin features a 12.9-inch screen with Kia's new Android-based operating system with access to the future PLEOS app store.
