The Indian electric bike Oben Rorr EZ costs less than an iPhone.
Indian startup Oben Electric has released the Rorr EZ urban electric motorcycle, priced between $1,150 and $1,560. This is cheaper than the flagship iPhone 16 Pro Max in India. Despite its low price, the bike is equipped with high-quality parts and is designed for urban travel.
The motorcycle is available in three versions — with 2.6, 3.4, and 4.4 kWh batteries. Depending on the configuration, the range is 110, 140, or 175 km, respectively. It takes only 45 minutes to charge to 80%. The “heart” of the bike is a 5.9 kW electric motor (peak power — 7.5 kW) with a torque of 52 Nm. The maximum speed reaches 95 km/h, and acceleration to 40 km/h takes 3.3 seconds.
Unlike many of its competitors, Oben has developed key components in-house, including the motor, batteries, and controller. The battery uses LFP (lithium iron phosphate) technology, which provides twice the service life and 50% better thermal stability compared to conventional lithium-ion cells.
Three riding modes are available: Eco, City, and Havoc. The Rorr EZ also features a telescopic fork, rear monoshock, and 200 mm ground clearance. It comes in four colors: orange, blue, green, and white.
