Nissan has unveiled the next-generation Micra, which will be available with an electric-only powertrain for the first time in the model's history. The hatchback is built on the AmpR Small platform, which is also used by Renault for the 5 E-Tech and 4 E-Tech models.

The new Nissan Micra is built on a modular platform that has proven itself in the compact electric car segment. Two versions are available for buyers. The base version is equipped with a 40 kWh battery and a 121 hp (90 kW) electric motor. It travels up to 314 kilometers on a single charge, and its curb weight is 1400 kg.

For those who want more autonomy and power, there is an improved modification: 52 kWh battery, 148 hp (110 kW), range - up to 407 km. The weight of this version is 1524 kg. In addition, it supports fast constant current charging with a capacity of up to 80 kW, allowing to replenish the charge from 15 to 80% in just half an hour.

In addition to the platform, Nissan has borrowed the suspension, braking system and even the interior, including the dual-screen multimedia system, from Renault. The only differences are the Micra's signature round LED headlights in the style of the 2002 Micra and the original design of the side panels.
Regenerative braking system with variable regenerative braking can increase real-world range by 10-15% in city conditions.

Sales of the electric version of the Micra are scheduled for 2025, but exact prices have not yet been announced.
