NIO Unveils the Giant ES9 Electric SUV
Chinese automaker NIO has unveiled its new ES9 electric vehicle, which boasts impressive dimensions. The car measures 5.3 meters in length, features three rows of seats, and is the largest all-electric SUV ever produced in China.
Two electric motors deliver nearly 700 horsepower, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 4.3 seconds, and the range reaches 620 km on the CLTC cycle. The crossover is built on a 900-volt platform with support for ultra-fast charging and NIO’s proprietary quick-swap battery system.
The vehicle features seats with 42-point massage, massive screens, a video conferencing system, and even a magnetic tea table. It also features 47 speakers, smart dimming windows, and an advanced driver-assistance system with 31 sensors and NOP+ autopilot.
The ES9 is positioned as a luxury vehicle in the vein of an electric counterpart to the Cadillac Escalade or Mercedes EQS SUV. Its price starts at approximately $54,000 with a battery lease.
