NIO ES9 will be the largest electric SUV in China

NIO is preparing to release its new flagship electric vehicle, the ES9, which will be the largest electric SUV on the Chinese market. The first images and technical details of the model are already available.

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, the dimensions of the NIO ES9 are 5365 x 2029 x 1870 mm. These dimensions make it larger than the current flagship ES8 (5280 x 2010 x 1800 mm) and, in fact, the largest electric SUV officially presented for the Chinese market.

The car will be equipped with CATL batteries and a twin-motor powertrain with a total output of 520 kW (697 horsepower). Judging by the published images, the ES9 is similar in appearance to the ES8, but differs in its larger proportions and the long-range lidar installed on the roof for driver assistance systems.

In terms of equipment, the ES9 will be based on the premium ET9 sedan, which starts at $110,000. According to NIO management, the official launch of the new flagship is scheduled for the first half of 2026.
