Mitsubishi revives Eclipse as an electric crossover
Mitsubishi is bringing back the legendary Eclipse name in the form of a fully electric crossover. The model is already on sale in Europe and offers a range of up to 600 km. It is one of the first Mitsubishi electric vehicles created as part of an alliance with Nissan and Renault.
Production of the new Eclipse Cross EV is underway at the Renault ElectriCity plant in Douai, France. The car features the brand's signature Smart Armor design, reminiscent of the Outlander.
The interior is designed in the style of a cockpit, with a large 12.3-inch vertical screen. Support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto multimedia systems is also announced.
The electric crossover is equipped with an 87 kWh battery and a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor developing 300 Nm of torque. Fast charging at 150 kW allows the battery to be recharged from 10 to 80% in approximately 25 minutes.
The driver has four driving modes at their disposal: personal, eco, comfort, and sport. In addition, there is a whole range of assistants — up to 20 active safety systems, including MI-PILOT and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
