Mercedes has revealed a concept of an electric hypercar

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled a futuristic electric car Concept GT XX, equipped with three axial-flow motors with a total output of 1,340 horsepower. Its top speed reaches 354 km/h, and the electric motors here are 67% lighter and more compact than traditional ones.

The reduced weight allows for three times the power density and twice the torque density. The motors are powered by a high-voltage battery with more than 3,000 cylindrical NCMA (nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum) cells. The energy capacity reaches a parameter of 300 Wh/kg and the peak charging power is 850 kW. This allows the car to quickly replenish its energy supply.

Two motors are housed in the rear unit with a planetary transmission and a silicon carbide inverter, while the third is mounted at the front. This produces a sonic imitation of the V8 through speakers in the headlights and a programmable brake light while driving.

Thanks to a special body design and active aerodynamic wheels with “floating” blades, the drag coefficient is reduced to 0.198.

There is no information about the plans for the mass production of the Concept GT XX yet.
