McMurtry Speirling PURE hypercar with fan goes into production
British company McMurtry Automotive has announced the start of production of one of the most unusual electric cars in the world. The Speirling Pure is an ultra-light hypercar with a fan to create downforce, but few will be able to buy it. The model will be released in a strictly limited edition and will be very expensive.
The developer will release only 100 cars at a price of $1.36 million each. The car is equipped with a system of fans that create extreme downforce. Thanks to this, the car is capable of moving even upside down and has already set several records.
The project faced a delay after the death of company founder David McMurtry in 2024. His sons Richard and Ben continued the work and created McMurtry Technology to commercialize the technology. This allowed the hypercar to go into mass production.
The company has seen a lot of interest from customers and partners, bringing in millions in revenue.
