Mach One electric skateboard goes up to 72 km/h
Electric skateboards are often associated with leisurely rides through parks and streets. But Mach One is changing the way we think about such transportation. Developed by Radium Performance, the skateboard is equipped with two 8000W motors on the rear wheels and accelerates from zero to 48km/h in 3 seconds.
The base of the skateboard is a lightweight and durable 25 cm wide carbon fiber deck. Inside are the battery and control electronics. To get to them, you need to unscrew eight screws and remove the upper part of the body. The maximum range is 48 kilometers, and the peak speed is 72 km/h. The unit is powered by a 1,089Wh battery.
The model received a traction distribution system, analogs of which have not yet been seen in electric skateboards. When cornering, the electronics independently increases the traction on the wheel that is under greater load to improve traction and faster acceleration when exiting turns. The skateboard weighs 17 kilograms.
The Mach One is now available for pre-order for approximately $3,173 USD.
