The new Lexus IS will be a fully electric car with an unusual design.

Lexus is preparing a big surprise for fans of premium sedans. The legendary IS will return in 2027 as a fully electric model. The new electric sedan is inspired by the LF-ZC concept and will differ significantly from the current version in terms of design and dimensions.

The body dimensions will be 4790 x 1880 x 1395 mm. Lexus will offer versions with a single electric motor and rear-wheel drive, as well as with two motors and all-wheel drive. The total power of the electric version can reach almost 500 horsepower.

According to available information, the company plans to achieve a range of about 1000 km on a single charge. The car will use high-performance next-generation prismatic batteries.

The arrival of the electric IS could help Lexus fill the niche left by the discontinuation of the Tesla Model S.
