Lamborghini unveils Manifesto - its vision for the supercars of the future
To mark the 20th anniversary of its Centro Stile design center, Lamborghini has unveiled the Manifesto concept car — a bold vision of what the supercars of the future might look like. Designers call it “pure sculpture” and a kind of “manifesto” of the brand's philosophy for the coming years.
The Manifesto is bright yellow and retains Lamborghini's signature features: a wedge-shaped silhouette, a low, aggressive nose, and complex geometric lines. The front stands out with its triangular headlights with Y-shaped daytime running lights, while the rear features a massive diffuser and Y-shaped taillights. The transparent cabin made of solid glass gives the concept the appearance of a futuristic “capsule race car.”
The Lamborghini Fenomeno was also on display at the event, standing next to the Manifesto, and the similarity in design indicates that the Manifesto was the inspiration for it. Centro Stile Director Mitya Borkert noted that the creation of the Manifesto became a symbol of creative freedom and a demonstration of what the Lamborghini team is capable of when not limited by production constraints.
Although the Lamborghini Manifesto will not appear on the roads, its ideas and design elements will almost certainly find their way into future production models.
