Kia has announced its most affordable electric vehicle

Kia is preparing to release a new electric crossover, the EV2, which is set to become the South Korean brand's most compact and affordable electric vehicle. The model belongs to the B-class and will officially debut at the Brussels Motor Show in January 2026.

The car will be assembled at the Kia plant in Zilina, Slovakia, which will speed up deliveries to Europe. Despite its small size, Kia will boast a fairly spacious interior.

Official prices and full specifications have not yet been disclosed, but the EV2 is expected to be just under 4000 mm long, making it more compact than the EV3 (4300 mm). This makes the EV2 comparable to the Hyundai Inster (3825 mm), but with a different body shape.

The EV2's technical base will be borrowed from the Hyundai E-GMP platform, and the batteries will most likely be similar to those in the EV3, which are approximately 58.3 and 81.4 kWh depending on the version. This will be enough for a range of about 410-560 km. The likely price will be around $35,000.
