The gasoline-powered Kia Seltos has inherited the features of electric cars
Kia has unveiled the new generation of its compact crossover, the Seltos. The model visually resembles the company's latest electric models and even has features that were previously only available in electric cars.
The second generation Seltos features the Opposites United design and elements characteristic of the EV3, EV5, and EV9. In particular, the company has applied its signature Star Map lighting graphics, recessed door handles, and a high vertical seating position.
The interior has been completely redesigned and equipped with a Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system with two 12.3-inch displays in a single panoramic panel and a separate 5-inch screen for climate control. The model is built on the K3 platform, which is shared with the Hyundai Kona and Kia Niro.
At launch, the Seltos will be offered with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, and a hybrid version will be released in 2026. Kia has confirmed the availability of the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, previously only available on electric vehicles.
Production of the updated Seltos will start in India this month, and global sales will begin in 2026 in Korea, North America, Europe, and China.
