Kia has unveiled the design for its new PV5 electric van. It will be the company's first Platform Before Vehicle (PBV) branded vehicle and is designed to compete with models such as the Volkswagen ID Buzz, Ford E-Transit, Mercedes eSprinter and Ram ProMaster EV.

The PV5 will be available in several configurations, including cargo and passenger variants. The front body section in the form of a cab remains unchanged, while the rear section lends itself to modifications similar to a construction vehicle.

The passenger model is highlighted by panoramic windows for better visibility, while the cargo version makes the most of the interior space and is presented in a more concise design. Kia has not yet disclosed information on technical specifications.

The company believes that the PV5 will be a great fit for cab services, logistics companies and even municipal transportation. Shortly after, Uber entered into a partnership with Kia, considering the PV5 as part of its plan to fully electrify its fleet by 2040.
