The JMEV SC01 electric roadster was created to counteract trends

Against the backdrop of widespread enthusiasm for autopilots, screens, and other electronics, the Chinese electric car JMEV SC01 was developed in the opposite direction. Its creators are betting on pure driving sensations and minimalism.

The JMEV SC01 roadster is equipped with a 320 kW (approximately 430 horsepower) electric motor, a 60 kWh battery, and weighs only 1,356 kg. The CLTC range is stated at 500 km, and the chassis is built on a tubular space frame.

The interior has a minimum of electronics. There is a compact display with basic technical information, physical climate controls, and a classic handbrake. Lightweight aluminum-magnesium wheels emphasize the sporty character of the model.

About a thousand cars will be produced in Europe, and assembly will be organized in Italy. The expected price will be approximately €60,000. If the model proves successful, the SC01 may soon appear in other markets.
