Hyundai Nexo hydrogen crossover became more powerful and autonomous
The South Korean automaker has unveiled the second generation of the Nexo hydrogen crossover. The updated model has a more powerful 255 horsepower engine, improved acceleration, increased range and faster charging.
The new version is capable of covering 700 kilometers after only 5 minutes on a gas station. This exceeds that of the 2023 Nexo model, whose range is about 666 kilometers. The car is also more powerful: it has 74 more horsepower than its predecessor. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 7.8 seconds.
The car is capable of acting as a towing vehicle with a total load of up to 1 ton. The luggage compartment has been increased to 1000 liters. There is also more space for rear passengers.
The cabin is equipped with a 12-inch display, digital rearview mirrors, wireless charging and video recorders. The front seats can be fully reclined and there are footrests at the bottom of the seats. The interior is finished with eco upholstery.
The previous version of the Nexo sold for $62,000. The updated one will likely be more expensive, putting it on par with premium electric cars and gasoline-powered crossovers like the Volvo EX30, Genesis GV80 and Cadillac Lyriq.
