Honda unveils affordable motorhome with solar panels
The Japanese company has unveiled a prototype of its Base Station travel trailer. With this model, Honda offers an alternative to large and expensive motorhomes for family vacations.
The project was developed by Honda teams in California and Ohio, the same specialists who previously worked on the Motocompacto electric scooter. The company has set a goal to make trips outside the city more affordable.
The trailer is designed to be towed by popular crossovers such as the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, as well as the Prologue electric vehicles and the future Honda 0 Series lineup. Its compact size allows it to be stored in a regular garage.
The Base Station can accommodate up to four people and is equipped with a fold-out bed, air conditioning, an outdoor kitchen, a shower, and solar panels with a battery. Honda is targeting a price range of $20,000 to $40,000.
