Genesis prepares to release a luxury electric SUV
Genesis is preparing to celebrate the brand's tenth anniversary with a series of new models, including a luxury SUV. Recently, a test prototype was spotted on public roads for the first time.
The company previously unveiled the X Gran Equator concept with an emphatically off-road design, auxiliary lighting, roof rails, and large wheels. But the prototype spotted on the streets looks more like the production Electrified GV70.
The prototype has increased ground clearance, off-road tires, reinforced suspension, and a massive tow hook. The closed radiator grille indicates an electric powertrain, although a hybrid or EREV variant is also possible.
The model is expected to be released in 2027, after the flagship GV90. There is a possibility that the SUV may turn out to be a new off-road version of the GV70, rather than a completely independent model.
