General Motors unveiled a futuristic Corvette concept car.
General Motors has unveiled its second electric Corvette concept. The most attention was drawn to the unusual body design, detachable cockpit camera, and single-piece dome on the front hinges. In a matter of seconds, the car can transform from a closed sports coupe into an ultra-light convertible.
The battery in the new Corvette is T-shaped and positioned to improve airflow under the chassis. The concept measures 4,669 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,767 mm. Compared to the previous version, the height has been reduced by 182 mm, while the space around the driver has been increased.
The front wheels are 21 inches in diameter, while the rear wheels are 22 inches. The Corvette's design includes a large rear diffuser that creates downforce without the need for a massive rear wing, as well as an active spoiler with an air brake function.
Most of the functions are controlled via a touchscreen in the center of the steering wheel, and information is displayed via a head-up display on the windshield. However, General Motors has officially stated that this concept is not yet planned for production.
