China's GAC has unveiled its answer to the Tesla Cybertruck
Chinese automaker GAC has unveiled a concept electric pickup truck Pickup 01 at Auto Shanghai 2025. The company's designers were clearly inspired by Ilon Musk's Tesla Cybertruck. The novelty features angular shapes, high ground clearance and massive tires, while retaining GAC's proprietary technologies.
The manufacturer positions the model for both urban travel and off-roading. At the heart of the Pickup 01 is the GAC Adaptive Intelligent Architecture platform with dynamic adjustment of suspension and driving modes.
The prototype is equipped with digital mirrors, hidden door handles and advanced driver assistance system. Special attention has been paid to the dual-mode intelligent cockpit, which can adapt to different road conditions, from city streets to mountain tracks.
GAC intends to start mass production of the electric pickup in 2027. The first markets will be Australia, Saudi Arabia, Chile and Mexico. The price of the novelty has not been disclosed yet.
