The electric Citroen ELO offers six seats and inflatable beds
Citroen has unveiled an unusual concept car that offers a new take on family cars. The French brand is confident that even a compact car can be comfortable for traveling with a large group.
The concept is called Citroen ELO and is designed for six people, despite its dimensions, which are similar to those of a traditional hatchback. The driver's seat is located strictly in the center, like in a race car, and the steering wheel is moved forward to increase space in the cabin and improve visibility.
The front hidden seats can be folded or positioned on either side of the driver, and there is a full three-seat row with individual seats in the rear. Sliding doors that open in different directions and a large glass area make it easier to get in and make the interior brighter.
One of the most unusual ideas was two inflatable beds, developed in collaboration with Decathlon. They are stored in the trunk, inflated by a built-in compressor, and attached to the ceiling above the folded rear row.
Inside, there is also a projection screen, a table next to the driver's seat for working, and trim made from recycled sports fabrics. Citroen emphasizes that this is a concept, but the company is seriously considering producing compact cars with non-standard interior solutions.
