Changan's New Electric Car Will Feature 800-Volt Charging
Chinese automaker Changan Automobile is preparing to launch the new mid-size crossover Nevo Q06, which will become part of the brand’s expanding lineup of electric vehicles. The model is aimed at the mass market and is expected to strengthen the company’s position amid declining sales in recent months.
The Nevo Q06 will be offered in two versions: fully electric and hybrid with an extended range. The vehicle will feature rear-wheel drive with a single motor or a more powerful configuration with two rear electric motors.
Depending on the version, the top speed will range from 200 to 230 km/h. The electric version will be built on an 800-volt architecture and support fast charging up to 6C.
Gotion High-Tech and CATL will be responsible for battery production in collaboration with Changan. The use of sodium-ion batteries is also being considered for better performance in cold climates.
The car will come with a wide range of options: up to 14 wheel designs, a panoramic roof, a two-tone rear spoiler, tinted windows, and a roof-mounted LiDAR system.
The price has not yet been announced.
