The Bentley Torcal became the brand's first electric car.
Bentley has officially confirmed the launch of its first fully electric car. The new model will be called the Torcal, and its world premiere will take place on September 23 in London.
The company calls this model one of the most sophisticated in the brand's history. The name Torcal refers to the Spanish nature reserve El Torcal de Antequera and also sounds similar to the Latin word "torque."
The electric car will join the Bentley lineup alongside the Bentayga, Bacalar, and Batur models. The company first announced plans to release an electric crossover back in 2021.
The Torcal prototype has previously been spotted testing in the Arctic Circle and at the Nürburgring in Germany. The car is likely to feature a sleek, fastback body inspired by the EXP 15 concept .
The interior is expected to feature red leather and black Alcantara trim, a large curved display, and traditional physical controls. Bentley promises to gradually reveal more details about the Torcal leading up to the official unveiling in September.
