BYD has unveiled the affordable Sealion 06 electric crossover.
Chinese automaker BYD has announced the Sealion 06, an affordable mid-size crossover. At a relatively low price, the model offers up to 605 km of range on a single charge and a wide range of advanced features, including intelligent driver assistance systems and fast charging support.
The Sealion 06 is available in three trim levels, including both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The variants are equipped with batteries with a capacity of 65.28 and 78.72 kWh. The base model with rear-wheel drive and a smaller battery provides a range of up to 520 km on the CLTC cycle, and with an increased battery, up to 605 km. The all-wheel drive version offers a total power of 388 hp and a range of up to 520 km.
The car is built on the e-platform 3.0 and is slightly larger than the Tesla Model Y: it is 4810 mm long, 1920 mm wide, and 1675 mm high. The interior features a 15.6-inch multimedia screen and a 26-inch projection display, and an optional built-in refrigerator with heating and cooling functions is available. The interface is based on the new version of the proprietary DiLink 100 system.
Safety and driver assistance systems are provided by the God's Eye C complex. It includes five radars, 12 high-resolution cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. The complex supports more than 30 functions: adaptive cruise control, highway driving assistant, automatic parking, and much more.
The model will go on sale at a price starting at 139,800 yuan, which is approximately $21,000.
