BYD has unveiled the Sealion 06 affordable electric crossover SUV

Chinese automaker BYD has announced the Sealion 06, an affordable mid-size crossover. At a relatively low price, the model offers up to 605 kilometers of range on a single charge and a wide range of advanced features, including intelligent driver assistance systems and support for fast charging.

The Sealion 06 is available in three trims, including both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The variants are equipped with batteries with a capacity of 65.28 and 78.72 kWh. The base version with rear-wheel drive and a smaller battery provides a range of up to 520 km on the CLTC cycle, and with an increased battery - up to 605 km. The all-wheel drive version offers a total power of 388 hp and a range of up to 520 km.

The car is built on the e-platform 3.0 platform and is slightly larger than the Tesla Model Y: length is 4810 mm, width - 1920 mm, height - 1675 mm. The cabin features a 15.6-inch multimedia screen and a 26-inch projection display, and a built-in refrigerator with heating and cooling function is available as an option. The interface is built on a new version of the company's DiLink 100 system.
Safety and driver assistance systems are represented by the God's Eye C suite. It includes five radars, 12 high-resolution cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors. The complex supports more than 30 functions: adaptive cruise control, highway driving assistant, automatic parking and more.

The model will go on sale at a price starting at 139,800 yuan, which roughly equals $21,000.
