BYD Yangwang U7 electric sedan keeps its balance on any road
Chinese automaker BYD has officially unveiled the Yangwang U7. The luxury sedan runs on four electric motors with a total output of 1300 horsepower and accelerates to 100 km/h in less than 2.9 seconds. But its main feature is the proprietary suspension with autonomous adjustment on each wheel.
The claimed top speed is 305 km/h, and the range on a single charge - up to 700 km on the CLTC standard. The car is built on a platform with a 500-volt architecture that provides ultra-fast charging from 30 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.
The U7 utilizes the DiSus-Z suspension system, which is powered by an electromagnetic actuator. Unlike standard hydraulic shock absorbers, the technology uses LiDAR sensors and vehicle cameras to anticipate road conditions in advance. To demonstrate its effectiveness, the manufacturer shot a video where the electric car drives on an uneven road, while on its roof gymnasts perform complex acrobatic tricks.
Like the Yangwang U9 hypercar, the U7 model has received the Speed Racer Mach 5 features. The car is able to perform the most complex parallel parking with the use of vector torque distribution. The list of technological innovations includes active aerodynamics and electromechanical suspension with adaptive shock absorbers.
The cost of the electric car is 86-98 thousand dollars depending on the configuration.
