BYD announced its flagship electric cars, the Seal 08 and Sealion 08

BYD officially announced its future flagship models, the Seal 08 and Sealion 08. The Chinese company revealed their designs and confirmed its readiness to begin mass production of electric cars.

Both cars are based on the Ocean S concept, which was unveiled in April at the Shanghai Motor Show. The Seal 08 electric sedan will measure 4720 x 1880 x 1495 mm, which is comparable to the Tesla Model 3.

The flagship Sealion 08 crossover will be comparable to the Tesla Model Y. The Seal 08 will have a range of 470 km, while the Sealion 08 will have a range of 545 km.

BYD CEO Wang Chuanfu noted that the company's key advantage remains its proprietary technologies, including batteries, intelligent driving algorithms, and charging. At the same time, BYD is actively increasing its exports. Last month, overseas deliveries grew by 325%, reaching almost 132,000 vehicles.
