BYD unveiled the luxury electric sedan Denza Z9S with a range of up to 920 km.
BYD officially unveiled the new premium electric sedan, the Denza Z9S. Unlike the Denza Z9 GT wagon, already sold in China and Europe, this fastback model is aimed at fans of classic sports sedans.
The Denza Z9S measures 5,090 x 1,980 x 1,490 mm with a 3,025 mm wheelbase, making it slightly more compact than the Z9 GT. Base models of the electric sedan are equipped with a single electric motor producing 429 or 496 hp, depending on the trim level. All models are equipped with a 102.3 kWh battery with an estimated range of up to 920 kilometers (CLTC). This is one of the highest ranges among modern production electric vehicles.
There are also reports of an upcoming extreme version of the Denza Z9S with three electric motors. Its total output could reach approximately 1,200 hp. This version is expected to become the line's flagship and compete with the most powerful electric sedans on the market.
The cabin features a new generation of the AI Intelligent Cockpit multimedia system. According to the manufacturer, it uses artificial intelligence and is capable of not only recognizing voice commands but also understanding the driver's intentions, offering a more natural interaction with the car.
The Z9S premiered shortly after the release of the Denza Z electric supercar , which debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The company has already announced that pre-orders for it have surpassed 1,000 in just a few days.
